WILLIAM E. DOUGAN,
M.D., Retired Ob/Gyn
Physician
Dr.
William E. Dougan was
born in Detroit,
Michigan and raised in
Royal Oak Township,
Michigan, a suburb of
Detroit. He attended
Western Michigan
University from
1966-1970 and the
University of Michigan
Medical School from
1970-1974. He completed
his internship at Hurley
Medical Center in Flint,
Michigan, and his
residency at Wayne State
University in Detroit,
Michigan, where he
served as chief resident
in Obstetrics and
Gynecology (Ob/Gyn). He
practiced Ob/Gyn in
Detroit for thirteen
years before moving to
Las Vegas where he
practiced for another
thirteen years before
retiring.
He has
served on numerous
legislative and medical
committees both in
Michigan and Nevada. He
presently serves on the
Nevada Office of
Minority Health Advisory
Committee. Dr. Dougan is
board certified in Ob/Gyn.
He also has an insurance
license and securities
license (6&63).
Dr.
Dougan and his wife of
thirty-five years, Dr.
Yorbalinda L.
Penton-Dougan, have two
adult children. He
paints for his own
enjoyment, collects art
and sports memorabilia.
He is on the deacon
board at Mountaintop
Faith Ministries where
he has been a member for
the past fifteen years.
He and wife have
conducted marriage
enrichment seminars for
the past twenty-five
years.
Dr.
Dougan was appointed to
the Standing Committee
by Governor Gibbons in
January, 2008 and
reappointed in 2010. His term
expires December 2011.
