JANIECE S. MARSHALL, ESQ., Attorney at Law

Janiece S. Marshall joined Duval & Stachenfeld as a partner during 2005 to open the firm’s Las Vegas, Nevada office. Ms. Marshall is in the Litigation Department and is licensed to practice law in Nevada (1992) and California (1990).

Ms. Marshall’s areas of practice include: business law, civil rights, employment law, insurance bad faith, medical malpractice and products liability, both in federal and state courts in Nevada. Her clients have included: AIG, American Nevada Corporation, Eighth Judicial Court of Nevada, Forest City Enterprises, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Makena Development, Showcase Mall Joint Venure, St. Paul/Travelers, Taser International, Inc., and Zurich Insurance.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Marshall was a partner in the national law firm of Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith. Additionally, Ms. Marshall worked for a law firm in Taipei, Taiwan, Cheng & Cheng, drafting joint venture agreements. Also, Ms. Marshall clerked for the United States District Court, District of Nevada (1990-1993).

Ms. Marshall graduated Order of the Coif with distinction from McGeorge School of Law (1989); thereafter earning a Masters of Law in Business and Taxation (1990). She further attended Taiwan University for graduate language study in Mandarin Chinese. She regularly teaches seminars on Federal Civil Litigation in Nevada and Real Evidence for the Trial Practitioner in Nevada. Ms. Marshall is also a member of the Advisory Committee for the Federal Bar Association of Nevada.

Ms. Marshall was appointed to the Standing Committee by the State Bar of Nevada in January 2006; and reappointed in 2007 & 2009.  Her current term expires December 2011.
