YVONNE L. MURPHY, Lobbyist, Public Member 

Yvonne Murphy has had an impressive 30-year history in corporate management, legal research and legislative lobbying.  While doing so, she has successfully reached her educational goals.   

She was a member of Governor Kenny C. Guinn’s executive staff, and was employed for years by the prestigious Jones Vargas law firm in Reno.  She served in nine (9) legislative sessions during the most challenging years in our State’s history.  

Prior to starting her own lobbying firm, Ms. Murphy worked for RR Partners in its corporate office in Las Vegas, and in the Government Affairs Division in Reno.    

She has earned her MBA, and in May, 2010, will be awarded her Doctorate in Philosophy with emphasis in Business Management.   

In addition to her appointment to this Board, Ms. Murphy was recently appointed as Alumni Liaison by the Dean of the College of Business, University of Nevada, Reno. 

She is a member of the United States Supreme Court Historical Society, the Honorable Kentucky Colonels, and supports numerous charitable organizations. 

Ms. Murphy was appointed to the Standing Committee by Governor Gibbons in February 2010.    Her term expires December 2011.
