Robert Owens, Pastor, Public Member
Pastor Owens is the founder and senior pastor of University Family Fellowship
Morning Star International in Reno and Sparks, Nevada. He graduated from Oral
Roberts University with a Bachelor of Theology Degree in 1980. He is called upon
to teach at seminars throughout the United States and around the world speaking
primarily to men and pastors about leadership development. Along with his
spiritual teachings, Pastor Owens speaks to secular audiences on a number of
growth and adventure themes.
Pastor Owens is currently in the process of developing a 100-acre non-profit
campus that will be able to serve people from the "cradle to the grave." He was
the first pastor to graduate from "Reno Leadership" sponsored by the Reno
Chamber of Commerce. He was also the first pastor in Nevada to be nominated to
serve on the Nevada State Ethics Commission.
Pastor Owens has been married to his wife, Felicia, a licensed Marriage and
Family Therapist for twenty five years. They have five children ranging in age
from twenty-one to eleven. He enjoys outdoor activities and has completed four
Ironman Triathlons.
Pastor Owens was the first pastor to be appointed to the Standing Committee
by Governor Guinn in January 2003 and reappointed in 2005; 2007 & 2009. His current term
expires December 2010.
