T. ARTHUR RITCHIE, Jr., District Court Judge
District Judge T. Arthur Ritchie, Jr., (Art) was appointed by Governor Kenny
Guinn in March, 1999. Judge Ritchie graduated from the University of Virginia
with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in English in 1984, and earned his Juris Doctor
Degree from George Mason University School of Law in 1987.
From 1987 to 1988, he was the Law Clerk to the Honorable J. Charles Thompson.
Judge Ritchie was an associate attorney with McDonald, Carano, Wilson,
McCune, Bergin, Frankovich & Hicks from 1988 to 1992.
Prior to being appointed to the bench, Judge Ritchie was a partner in the law
firm Freeman & Ritchie from 1992 through March, 1999.
Judge Ritchie has been active in local community organizations, and has
coached Little League baseball with the Green Valley Little League since 1988.
Judge Ritchie was appointed to the Standing Committee by the Nevada Supreme
Court in February 2005, and re-appointed in 2007, 2009 and 2011. His current term expires in January 2013.
